Design Your Future
I expected the UCAS fair in Manchester to be a lot smaller than the one in London, however, it was very much the same size as the London UCAS fair.
The Manchester UCAS fair, I found a lot helpful than when I went to London, although that was probably down to my own initiative, as last time I wasn't interested, and wasn't fully set on what I was doing. I was more distracted by being in London for the first time.
Since I now have chosen a subject area I am happy with, I was able to ask around the different universities about their Fine Art's courses, which proved to be a lot more effective than just going up to a stand without a clue of what I wanted to do.
Once again, the effort put into the stands varied, and those who put in the effort were a lot more effective at catching my attention than those who did not.
I noticed that some stands were the same as when I went last year, Notts Trent and Bradford being two of them, however, since I have already booked an open day at Notts Trent, it didn't bother me as much. It still did bother me though.
Some Uni's were particularly inventive with the way that they promoted themselves, such as Bournemouth. I have been to Bournemouth on a holiday before when I was younger, and found the particular area I stayed in to be quite boring, and yet the way they promoted their Uni really caught my eye.
MANCHESTER COLLEGE'S LEGO MAN FIGURE TURNED OUT TO BE A MEMORY STICK!
My only criticism would be that some of the Uni's didn't change their stands, as I said previously and that a few were extremely empty and void of helpers. while others started to look like a help desk (RNN/NNC's booth) compared to a device to promote themselves.
